Hanky Panky Cotton Lawn Babydoll

Hanky Panky Cotton Lawn BabydollThe drought is over. Frilly Friday is back after a 4 week hiatus. I'm sorry if you've all missed us, but Rachel and I spent some much needed time off relaxing without our computers and it was awesome.

The word on the street is that the snow is melting up north and the sun is actually peaking out on occasion. That means that a lot of you are probably thinking about spending some quality time outside for a change. Well, here's a babydoll from Hanky Panky that evokes images of hot southern summers sitting on the porch swing sipping lemonade (or perhaps mint juleps) with the family dog and Grandma Sally.

According to the official Hanky Panky product literature, this cotton lawn babydoll is “handkerchief inspired”...Great marketing there:

“Yes, honey I'd like to wear a snot rag to bed...ain't I sexy?”.

Don't let that scare you though. Think classic 1930's and 1940's lingerie. It's 100% sheer woven cotton with crochet lace trim and floral embroidery along the bust. The empire waist features elastic in back for a great fit and the ruffled skirt gives a coy sexiness to the babydoll.

Thankfully, we're blessed with air conditioning these days, but this babydoll takes me back to those hot, sticky nights when the only relief was a nighttime breeze. In fact when I first saw it, I thought of the famous car wash scene from Cool Hand Luke. Hopefully, it will provide a little glimpse of summer to those of you who are still bundling up every day.
